What is Celtic Throwdown?

Celtic Throwdown is a competitive gaming events company that hosts multiple tournaments, live streams, and community hosted challenges throughout Ireland. Our flagship event, self titled Celtic Throwdown, is hosted annually & is supported the Irish FGC, game publishers & community members.

What do I need to compete/play?

You need your controller of choice (with any cable/adapter required), a passion for gaming & the steely determination to destroy your opponent.

How do I register?

You can use this website to purchase your entry to the event itself. Once you have yourself a ticket you can register for tournament(s) through the smash.gg links available when purchasing. Goto the events page to see all listed events or our individual event pages in our menu.

How old do I need to be to compete?

We do not have an age restriction on tournament registration, however anyone aged 14 or under will need to be accompanied by an appropriate guardian.

What is your refund policy?

We offer a full refund up to 30 days before the event itself. If you require a refund, please contact us via the website or via email on celticthrowdown@gmail.com & we will process the request.

Can I register at the event itself?

No. You must register online for all of our events. For safety of our staff & also for scheduling concerns, we are not processing cash registrations at our events.

Can I help or get involved?

Yes. If you would like to be part of CT as a judge, commentator, administration or general floor positions, please go to our applications page & fill out the forms.

Player information

  • Players are expected to read and adhere to the Code of Conduct. It is the minimum we expect, not a standard to nearly meet!
  • If you need anything, CT staff are plainly obvious by their glowing pink t-shirts. Feel free to ask them anything!
  • Tournament rules can be found for each event on the events page.
  • Tournament brackets for all of our tournaments can be found on the relevant smash.gg page. Please check the events page for each one.
  • Food and drink are available to purchase on-site.
  • There is always a CT quiz on the Saturday night of Celtic Throwdown: this is an over 18s event were alcohol is available.
  • There are always set-ups available for casual play, please respect when stations are called for tournament use.
  • On Sunday night, there is an after-party. The focus of our after-party is on casual play and friendly banter in a safe space.
  • For official tournament timings, ensure you stay connected to the event pages & social media feeds for CT. Please also ensure you know in advance when your wave is called: while our event staff will do their best to facilitate you, you can be disqualified if you are not available when called & your absence is impacting other players tournament experience.
  • Due to working with several professional publishing partners, CT events can be viewed on several different streams. www.twitch.tv/asonelive is the official CT stream. When you sign up to any CT event, you grant permission for us to broadcast your image as it pertains to streaming.
  • No white tracksuits at any event.
